One half of a whole

People like to point out to us,
The clash of gold and silver
Of our eyes.

How my vibrant crimson
Contrasted against his earthy green
Hair.

I was small,
Stocky and grounded,
But so sweet.

He was tall,
Lanky and fluid,
But so bitter.

He was cruel,
Violent and possessive,
Always stubborn.

I was kind,
Forgiving and accepting,
Always relenting.

We were opposite,
Of each other in every way,
One half of a whole.
